Terms of service

These terms apply to every booking with The Rolling Range Limited. By placing a booking, you agree to them.
1. Who we are
The Rolling Range is operated by The Rolling Range Limited (NZBN registered), a New Zealand company providing mobile golf simulator hire across Auckland and Hamilton, with other areas available on request.

2. Your booking
A booking is confirmed when:
- You've selected a package and any add-ons through our website or via direct quote
- We've sent you a booking confirmation
Until those things are done, your date is not held. We work on a first-paid basis - someone else can book your date if their payment lands first.
3. Payment
- Payment in full: Full payment is required to confirm your booking, made via bank transfer or through our Shopify checkout.
- Currency: All prices are in New Zealand dollars (NZD) and include 15% GST unless otherwise stated.
- Deposits for larger bookings: For higher-value or longer-lead-time bookings, we may offer a 50% deposit at the time of booking with the balance due 7 days before the event. This is at our discretion - ask us when you enquire.
4. Cancellation and rescheduling
Our full cancellation and rescheduling policy is set out in a separate document. You agree to those terms by placing a booking.

If we cancel for weather or safety reasons, you choose between a full refund or a free reschedule. Full policy: see our Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy.
5. Setup, access, and venue requirements
You're responsible for making sure the venue is suitable. Specifically:
- A clear setup area of at least 6m x 6m with a minimum ceiling height of 3.4m
- A standard 240V power outlet within 15m of the setup location (or generator hire booked as an add-on)
- Vehicle access for delivery and pack-down within a reasonable distance of the setup area
- Permission from the venue owner if you're not the venue owner yourself
- A backup indoor space for outdoor bookings, where reasonably possible
We arrive 45-60 minutes before your event start time. If we can't access the venue or the space isn't ready, the event timing may be delayed. We're not responsible for time lost to access issues outside our control.
6. Equipment use and damage
Our equipment is professionally maintained and tested before every event. By using it, you and your guests agree to:
- Use the simulator, clubs, and balls only as directed by our on-site operator
- Not consume food or drink inside the simulator enclosure
- Supervise children at all times - children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult while using the simulator
You're responsible for any damage to our equipment caused by misuse, negligence, or wilful action by you or your guests. Repair or replacement costs will be invoiced after the event with photographic evidence.
7. Health, safety, and liability
We carry a $2,000,000 NZD broadform liability policy for incidents occurring during the delivery of our services.
Some risks are inherent to swinging a golf club, and you accept those risks for yourself and your guests when you book. Specifically:
- You agree to brief your guests on basic safety (no swinging when others are within range, etc.) and to follow the on-site operator's instructions
- We reserve the right to refuse use to anyone who is intoxicated, behaving unsafely, or refusing to follow operator instructions
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from the event
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
8. Weather and adverse conditions
For outdoor events, we'll cancel or postpone if conditions make it unsafe to set up or operate. The decision is ours, based on the safety thresholds in our Cancellation Policy (sustained wind gusts above 30km/h, lightning, severe rain, waterlogged ground).
If we cancel for weather or safety, you get a full refund or a free reschedule - your choice.
9. Photography, video, and content
We may take photos and short videos at events for use in our marketing and social media. We will:
- Take general crowd and gameplay shots, focused on the equipment and the experience
- Avoid identifiable close-ups of guests without consent where reasonably possible
- Stop or remove content if you or a guest asks us to
If you'd prefer no photography or filming at your event, let us know in advance and we'll comply.
You grant us permission to use general event content (without identifiable close-ups) for our promotional purposes unless you opt out before the event.
10. Privacy
We handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
11. Service area and travel
Our standard service area is Auckland and Hamilton. We're happy to travel to other areas on request - get in touch with your location and we'll quote any travel costs.
12. Force majeure
If your event can't go ahead because of something neither of us can reasonably control (lockdowns, natural disasters, public health restrictions, venue cancellation, or similar), we'll work with you to reschedule at no cost. If a refund is the better option, we'll refund what we can less any third-party costs we've already paid out and can't recover.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your booking is the version published on our website on the date you placed the booking.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be dealt with by the New Zealand courts.
